Welcome

Growing up in Canutillo in El Paso's Upper Valley, I learned a lot about values like hard work, service to our community and country, and the blessings of family and friends. After serving in Vietnam and then for the 26 and half years as an agent and Sector Chief in the United States Border Patrol, I was honored to be elected to represent the people of the 16th Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Every day I strive to honor our shared values through my work in Congress. Together, we've accomplished a great deal, and with your help I will continue that record on behalf of our community.
Sincerely,
Sincerely, Congressman Silvestre Reyes

A SPECIAL MESSAGE FROM CONGRESSMAN SILVESTRE REYES: MY VISION, MY WORK, MOVING FORWARD
Fellow Democrats, I need your help to keep this great community of El Paso moving forward. Men, women, conservative, liberal, Black, White, Latino, gay, lesbian, soldier, civilian, young, old -- everyone counts, and I want to be the person who represents you in Congress.

PROTECTING OUR SENIORS, PROTECTING OUR FAMILIAS
Yes, it is true that these are tough economic times that require difficult decisions to restore the fiscal health of our economy, but let me be clear: these are not times to become morally bankrupt by leaving our seniors, veterans, and under-served children behind. Every senior deserves dignity in their retirement - every senior, no exceptions. That is my position, and you can be sure that I will vote against any irresponsible, misinformed, and short-sighted proposal that seeks to balance the budget on the backs of our seniors, working families, veterans, children, the disabled, and other under-served populations.

ASK BETO O'ROURKE WHY HE IS WILLING TO CUT BENEFITS FOR SENIORS, ELIMINATE ALL SOCIAL SECURITY FOR OTHERS THROUGH "MEANS TESTING"
In yet another example of how Mr. O'Rourke is misinformed, unprepared, and willing to say anything to get elected, he told an audience of Westside Democrats this week that he was willing to raise the retirement age on seniors and implement "means testing" on Social Security as a way to balance the country's federal budget.
